With wide plank flooring becoming increasingly popular, glue-down is becoming more of the norm than the exception with new installs. Why not remove a step from the process with Mapei’s line of moisture barrier glue.
In full spread applications, Mapei guarantees 100% moisture barrier performance without a primer, just their 995 and 985 glue. Using an already superior product like Mapei, this can be viewed as more of a perk, reducing the time you spend on floor prep.
If moisture isn’t a concern, Mapei offers several more choices of glue that are more budget friendly.

Full spread glue with the assistance of staples, more often referred to as glue-assist, keeps your floor smooth and tight while the glue cures.
This is always preferable to using weights, sand buckets, stacks of wood or whatever else you may have to find to weigh the floor down while the glue dries.
When you need that extra bit of sound attenuation, are you using an inferior product? Ecore is an extremely easy to use and versatile product. This underlayment is a rubber composite that comes in rolls, but unlike other rolled goods it has a memory. What this means for you is, you roll it out, it lays flat, and won’t try to roll back up on you. No more of those edges that you need to weigh down. Using this product will ensure a solid feeling floor with ample sound dampening characteristics.
Ram Board is the most recognizable name in floor protection. When it comes to stairs and flooring this is a product you can use for the protection of your newly installed project.
But there are limitations in its use. There is a need to wait for your finish to cure before covering your new floor. There are also times when you cannot tape to the floor, severely limiting your ability to use Ram Board.
Surface Liner Vapor is a breathable, and reusable, floor protection that requires no wait times for curing.
This floor protection material allows the new finish to continue to off gas while still adding a protective layer to your new floor. After the cure time on your finished floor has been surpassed, you can then add a layer of Ram Board for even more protection.
